Did you have previous puddle lights for them to remove to install the AMG one?
I had the regular door/ Puddle lights from the factory. Popped & swapped for the animated AMG lights. No mods needed. Just unplugged the old light assembly and plugged in new one.

Were you able to pop the lights out from the outside or did you have to remove the door panel to get to it from the inside?
The Mercedes shooting star projection where it does not move with the door is only available in the long wheelbase version in China and is located underneath the vehicle.
