Alarm / Lock & Unlock

2024 E350

Hi all,

Is there an option to completely deactivate the alarm or the constant door handles going in and out?

Sometimes, I sit in my car after I park it with my keys in my pocket and the digital key on my phone. The vehicle has a mind of its own. It auto locks, and then the alarm goes off a short time later(even with interior motion disabled). If I lock it, the alarm goes off. If I don’t lock it, it eventually locks itself and the alarm goes off after a short while. I suspect this has more to do with the digital key than the physical key, but I’m not actually sure. It’s very annoying. I want to park my car, lock it and not have it endlessly cycle the door handles or auto activate anything.

I can’t find any features for this online apart from interior motion disabling which doesn’t seem to be the problem.

thanks!

Remove the Digital Key

I had some of these frustration after the Phone Digital key continued to open the handles and eventually the car 12v battery went low since I sleep just above the car and it was constantly “talking” to the car. My simple solution was to delete the digital key from my phone and watch. More comfortable now using the key fob.

Thank you! I presume the physical key doesn’t do the same as the digital key from a constant cycling and proximity perspective?

I’ve only ever had both of them on my person, so I really don’t know which one is actually causing the issue.

It’s a good question… when I am at home I store my keys in a RFID wallet away from the car, but I sleep just above the car well within Bluetooth distance. I found it concerning that every time I walked the dogs carrying my phone my handles would pop out. The thing is it’s not just handles the car controls wake up and run the battery down. As another thread put it Digital Key is a solution looking for a problem.

That is well said actually. It’s becoming more of an annoyance than and actual benefit. I’ll eliminate it.
