3D instrument cluster

Is the 3D instrument cluster standard on every e class? If so, how do you activate it? Thanks.

In the US it’s a standalone $990 option, and there will be a “3d” icon in the upper left of the center screen

I guess I don’t have it. Thank you for the info.

What are the advantages, if any ?

What are the advantages, if any, of the 3D display?
I could never see a car with this option at my local dealers.

mostly it just looks very cool, but it also upgrades the attention assist feature in some way they never really explain. Either way, it’s by no means essential, just fun

I drove a 2024 E350 for over 6K miles that did not have the 3D screen and then have had my 2025 E450 since August that does have the 3D screen. It's really just a visual experience, but it's very cool looking. On the classic screen, the center part that show the miles driven and other info float above the surface. On the sport screen the rec circular patterns have depth, and on the service screen, the car and info around it have various depths that really make it pop. The biggest visual impact is on the navigation screen. The map has a bit of a 3D appearance and all the info tiles are floating above the map. Looks very cool. If you take a picture it will just look blurry. It's more than just a special screen. Apparently the laser cameras that track the driver's eyes feed info that alters the screen image to allow the images to move as you move your head. This gives a much mor real 3D look than other 3D tech. Some people have noticed that the screen will look blurry if they move their head and eyes too fast. I've noticed this at times but not to a point it where it's an issue for me. It's easy to turn on and off with a dedicated icon in the upper left of the center screen. You need two eyes to see the effect so cameras cannot capture the 3D image and will just look blurry.

It's really cool and adds to the premium feel to the car but it's just a cosmetic feature. This and the HUD are the two features nobody will ever notice or see unless they are in the driver seat.

Ah, I looked a little more and what it adds to the attention assist is "microsleep detection".
