Red face Throttle House 2025 AMG E53 Review

In case anyone didn't see it this morning when it dropped, Throttle House just reviewed the E53.

Spoiler alert: they seem to love it and say it redeems AMG a bit after some incredibly poor recent vehicles like the C63. Their main complaint was a lot of road noise from the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

SavageGeese has eloquently articulated the phenomenon of auto manufactures trying to build a car that will do all things for a single customer.

Meaning you can drive your kids to school in it, drive it like a sports car and take it on a road trip.

Problem is that it's good, but not the great in any category.

I'd lean towards having both a Porsche and E450 to be able to choose either great sport or great luxury as needed.

works if you live in the suburbs, doesn't work so well if you live in the best city in the world where indoor parking is half a million dollars. And most luxury condos come with only one.

I got the Pinnacle Trim Package on mine, which has the heat- and noise-insulating glass. I didn’t notice or have any issues with the road noise, and yes, I have the same rims and tires installed. I think it is a great car overall.
