Perhaps you should try other dealers to get a quicker delivery than 6 months.

BTW, transport time at sea is 7 to 10 days from when the ship leaves Europe and when in docks in the US. It is not 2 months at sea. From port to dealer is usually 3 to 5 days.
Most of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen RoRo ships that have routes from Bremerhaven to Newark or Baltimore with 2 or 3 enroute stops take between 2 and 3 weeks. There are a couple of outliers with only 1 enroute stop. There are no non-stop RoRo routes between Germany and the US.

Add another 5 days for the typical time for US Customs clearance before the car is forwarded to the MB port processing center.

The ship my order is currently on, the THEMIS LEADER, left Bremerhaven on 03/20 and is now about halfway across the Atlantic. So. nine days so far, with a stop in the UK where it spent a day in port. She is steaming through Panama bound for Long Beach -- not the US east coast -- so the rest of its journey will be much longer. It is expected in Panama on 04/06. Yes, at 15 knots it takes a while!

As an update, I sat in a 2025 E450 All-Terrain yesterday, and did not like the fact that all of the buttons (except for 2-3) have been eliminated, with controls transferred into the central screen. A serious bit of "cost optimization" there, vis-a-vis the All-Terrains until 2023.

The GLE of course, being a "last generation" design, still has all of those physical buttons/switches/knobs intact. If this is a factor that matters to you, then the choice is clear.

One of the reasons, buttons being replaced by a touch screen, that at the end of my extended warranty on my 2019 E450 in December, I am thinking of keeping it rather than replacing it with a new W214 E450.

Hmmm, are you planning to extend it again or is it even possible to extend an extended warranty?

I had the 2019 E450 dash in a leased 2019 CLS and found it much more manageable than the one in the 2024 E450. If you do go with the 2024/2025, be sure your "lane keeping assist" is always active. Several times it saved me from leaving my lane while my eyes and fingers were trying to find just the right spot to press to adjust the radio or climate control....

I use voice command as much as possible while driving. Works quite well for simple commands.

Same. For simple things I have them pretty much committed to memory and takes but a glance. Most things are easier with voice. I do enable the direct commands that do not require the wake word when alone which make it even easier. She sometimes thinks I'm talking to here when I'm singing along to the music. I wish there was a 1 button mute/unmute to turn her off for a little while.

Perhaps just turn off voice commands altogether and use the button on the steering wheel to activate it whenever you need it, instead of it constantly listening for your commands. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/H1anuwFfJSs/h...Wdu1kA1rvc9CrQ

I tried that for a little while and didn't like it so I changed it back. I'm still undecided which mode I like best, but so far it's the active listening mode that I can just blurt out a request. It's nice to have options though.

I was not able to find the new style steering wheel with the capacitive buttons showing this button clear enough but the actual image should be the same.

I see, fair enough. I wonder if there is anyway to configure it, perhaps turn off direct commands? If that is what it was called, so it only respond to hey Mercedes before activating?

I have it, but it's on the right side of the steering wheel.

Folks, after a lot of hemming and hawing, I finally bought a 2025 E450 All-Terrain. This is despite my extreme dissatisfaction with the lack of physical buttons and knobs. And it is certainly frustrating to have to go into multiple screens, to do a simple change in audio settings or in tweaking the climate control settings, rather than reaching for its dedicated button.

So my 2022 All-Terrain was purchased by my brother, which left me with the GLE450, which I had been driving exclusively for the past 4 months. Driving the All-Terrain after exclusively driving trhe GLE450 for this long, was like putting a jet engine into the GLE450. Both the maneuverability of the car, and the way the car leaps forward eagerly, vis-a-vis the more lazier/ponderous response from the GLE with a similar drive-train.

So yes, my GLE450 is traded in, and the new All-Terrain takes its place. I dearly miss the physical buttons of the GLE, but it was ultimately a matter of picking one’s poison.

PS: I need to update my signature now.

Congratulations and nice choice. Post a picture in the official picture thread when you get a chance.

BTW, most things can be done with voice. The touchscreen gets easier once you get to know it. I prefer physical buttons too, but I find most things quite easy on the W214 now. Give it some time.

Maybe it is my imagination, since I don’t have the GLE next to me to compare against, but the camera resolution is significantly worse in the 2025 E-class, than say the prior gen E-class or the GLE.

The GLE view was crisp, especially at night, while the 2025 E-class is noticeably less crisp. So unless I am mistaken, they did some quiet cost-cutting when it came to the rear camera of the new “214” generation E-class.

That would be surprising and unfortunate but maybe it just needs a quick wipe of the lens? Hopefully that fixes it.

I wouldn't say the A class camera is the same as the GLE, hopefully not as being different tier but there were differences pre-facelift to facelift indeed.

Here, he specifically talked about the camera being worse on the facelift, again, this is a A Class, CLA.
