I can go to the Mercedes website and compare the monthly payments. That said, the 1% lease still usually makes more sense financially if you want to keep your car longer than 2 or 3 years.
A 1% lease is like buying the car on time.

That cannot last long because they do not have 25% margin Expect them to stop giving dealers allocations for stock, only factory orders..
And on the financial side, how is this trade war working out for you guys ? The US stock market is doing well? China just added another 50% to US exports this morning. The Dow was up 250 points earlier but on that news, it is now down 750 points.
Why would Congress not put a stop to this. They know he is not a financial genius. He went bankrupt six times. Now he wants to bankrupt your country.
Expect the US and most of the world to go into recession. We will ALL be poorer by the time this ends. Price of. Cars will be the least of our concerns.
Yeah, it's more like a car loan, but it's different for tax purposes than a loan if you're a company or an individual proprietor.

Of course same here: lease payments vs. car payments.

I used to work in Italy and I believe the lease payment is 100% deductible as a business expense and there are different taxes for registration for cars for business vs. personal use.

That appears to be the only reason Petee comes to this forum.

MB website updated to include this at the bottom

A message from Mercedes-Benz USA: We want to assure you that the MSRP of all new Model Year 2025 vehicles will not increase until further notice.

Glad they are posting that on the website, I couldn't find it though out of curiosity do you mind posting an image of it?

It's a pop up message that slides in from the bottom. If you dismiss it, you may not see it again unless you clear your cache. Ultimately it means nothing other then they are not increasing MSRP until they do, which they will tell you with another notice of some kind.

Why in the world would the exporting country pay the tariff? It could be in the millions of dollars for all exported vehicles. Who ever told you that has their head up their butt.

President Trump said over and over again that the tariffs would be paid by China and that this was "free money" for us. Unfortunately, most of the MAGA people actually believed this.

I guess technically, if this policy holds, the exporter is not paying the tariff, the importer, MB USA is. I’m sure we have some CPA accounting types out there. I was wondering how much flexibility the manufacturer has in establishing a transfer cost between
MB AG and MB USA? I imagine historically, they kept that number pretty tight to minimize US income taxes. MB USA has to establish a warranty accrual as they process the claims in the US. Zone offices, dealer training, advertising, etc all come out of the MB USA budget. So they would mark up the car when selling to the dealer to cover those expenses. Wonder if MB AG could reduce the transfer cost to cover the tariff and then MB USA would show the tariff as an expense? If so, and if the tariff is an allowable tax deduction, then it is paid with pre tax dollars, where if the end user pays it, in most cases, the tariff would be paid with after tax dollars.

The govt will not let MB play games. Prices between Germany and the US are already set with the current 2.5%. MB cannot reduce the established cost to reduce the tariff.
