E/W214: W214 Assembly
This video is more about the plant in general and focuses more on the S-Class which is produced along side the E-Class.
More specific to the E-Class in terms of focus on what is going on the same plant. Not as good a video from a narration stand point and has some strange AI voice over towards the end at several different times.
Earlier, the German content of these cars (GLC, S-class and E-class) were in the 80+% range (until the W213 / S213 in the E-classes), but from 2024/2025 (W214/S214 in the E-classes) onwards, the German content has come down to the 25-35% range, even though the final assembly still happens in Germany. That "lost" content of roughly 50%, probably comes from Asia. In the S-class too, the German content has come down to around 35%.
They seem to be doing what's required to stay alive, with the self-inflicted several fold increase in German energy costs.
