Reduced Power Warning Light

During my trip today, a "Power Severely Limited" message with a yellow Turtle warning light (Reduced Power Warning light according to owner's manual) was displayed on my 2025 W214 E450 (with only 1000 miles on it). I could continue to drive the car with no discernable power/acceleration issues. Upon arriving home, I shut off the car and then restarted the car, the warning light disappeared but with a message asking to "tap here to remove power limit restrictions", which I did. Again, the car drives fine with no noticeable adverse effects. Just wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this before?

Got this while driving home after taking delivery (225 mikes) while I was in stop and go traffic. Pulled over, waited for about an hour contemplating whether I should have MB tow car. Started back up, error cleared and I drove the remaining 40 miles home. Local dealer didn’t find anything days later and at 6200 miles later I haven’t had it again. 24E450AT

May be some group of disgruntled German engineers wanting to feel important, and programming random messages. This is the modern version of what we used to call 'idiot lights'. Makes you wish for the good old days of analog temperature and charging gages.

I also experienced this right after delivery. I was on a 5 hour drive home. About 3 hours in the turtle light and reduced power lights came on. I finished the trip with reduced power fearing it wouldn’t restart.
After a key cycle it cleared. I never experienced it again however I haven’t been on a trip requiring constant driving 3 plus hours.
My guess is a software glitch.

Interesting that both of our incidents happened basically as brand new vehicles (only 600 miles on mine). As you surmised, hopefully it is a software glitch. Just curious, on restarting the car after the warning light goes out, did you get a message asking you to “tap here to remove power limits” or something to that effect?
