Poor Apple Music quality on Carplay - possible fix
I’ve shared my frustration a few times here about the poor audio quality of Apple Music on CarPlay, with almost a non-existing bass, harsh treble and low overall volume - especially when compared to the native Apple Music app on MBUX.
Even after experimenting with EQ settings in the car and tweaking the settings on the phone, I could never pinpoint what was causing the problem (I figured it was just the old wireless vs wired debate and left it at that).
Last night at the car wash, I came across an iPhone setting I’d never really noticed before: "Sound Check" (iPhone Settings → Music → Sound Check). I turned the toggle off and the difference was night and day, I had deeper bass, more balanced mids and smoother treble.
I’m not sure if this is unique to my setup, but if you’re also struggling with poor audio quality on CarPlay, it’s worth giving this a try.
