AMG Batman Test
Do you want your AMG's to be Superman or Batman?
I like the E53 wagon's ability to fly under the radar. I think @E53DadWagon said a similar thing where he preferred the appearance of the E53 wagon compared with the more aggressive M5.
I like seeing other people drive Batman cars, but my ownership preference leans towards Superman or Luke Skywalker. It sounds like AMG is going Vader.
What about you? Do you want to drive Superman's car or Batman's car?

Car people don't buy cars to be hyperboles. They buy cars because they have passion. That means the growl of a V8 engine. Some good looks, but not overdone. All cars are fast now - in today's day and age, any respectable performance EV will outperform an ICE vehicle. Even a Camry is fast enough. But car people want passion in their cars, not commodities like cell phones.
I don't know what the sales numbers are, but selling 200,000 AMG's (if that's a lot?) just means more dilution of the brand. It all started with the C450 AMG (which was later rebranded to the C43 AMG). And then all successive 43's after that, and then the 4-cylinder 45's. Great performance, but not necessarily passion. (And yes, I have a soft spot for a white CLA45 Shooting Brake).
Ask the top guys who brought back the hemi V8 to the Ram trucks. They didn't talk about batman or superman or some other nonsense. They just said "our customers like V8's" "our customers want the Hemi" "our customers like V8's, regardless that the 6 cylinder Hurricane is better in all aspects". Straight to the point.

- pass the reliability test (more than the warranty period)
- care less about my social life and more about my need to tear up and down a track or S curve
- be one man and one engine
- be less Instagram worthy
- use more gas and be less fuel efficient but more authentic exhaust notes
- have less touch screens (or none at all) in it
- receive no updates "over the air"
- have an electronic system that doesn't require the battery to live on life support when not being driven (I.E. be on a battery tender constantly)
- actually allow real camber adjustment and not chew through tires on the inside
- to wake up my neighbor when I come home
- to have an entire that doesnt have crankcase pressure issues and RMS leaks
- that doesn't chew through ignition coils
- be offensive to generation Z-ers
