Go to your Android Auto settings on your phone and change it to "If used on last drive". Then disconnect it and leave it disconnected when it connects next in your car. You do that by going to your phone or after AA starts and expanding down on the notification. There you will see a disconnect link. If you tap the AA icon on the car after it disconnects it will reconnect. The sure way is to forget the car on your phone and then set your phone to not connect new vehicles. Lastly. You can unpair your phone from your car Bluetooth.

BTW, it should not be killing your battery if it's on the charging pad assuming it's actually charging. I have not had this issue even when using AA and playing music from the phone. It doesn't charge as fast, but the battery doesn't drain. I know you have another thread on this and I encourage you to troubleshoot why you are having charging issues as it's not normal. You can also plug the phone into the USB port, but that's not as convenient as wireless charging. It your car and up to you, but I would find the root cause rather than give up and stop using AA.

Have you tried other wireless charging devices as a test? I'm on OneUI 7.0 on an S24 Ultra and don't have an issue charging wirelessly. That's all I ever do for charging both at home and in the car.

When troubleshooting things like this, it's best to isolate and verify one thing at a time. Verify the car charger works or doesn't work by trying with multiple phones without a case. Verify the phone charges wirelessly using multiple wireless chargers. One by one, eliminate things that could be the cause and determine known good devices. In addition it's worth checking the phone battery app to see what is consuming the most battery power. It's possible there are enough background apps running that overrun the charge capacity of a wireless charger. Just using AA along with a navigation app like Waze or Google Maps should not be enough. Since OneUI 8.0 is brand new. There may be a bug causing this but I haven't seen reports of this myself with a quick search.

Try clearing cache partition in system recovery.

That's good advice. I always clear the cache partition after installing a software update on Galaxy S24. There's plenty of videos on Youtube on how to do it. Turn the phone off, then hold the Volume UP button and the Power button at the same time. That will bring up a "secret" menu where you can use the volume keys to scroll down and select the option to clear the partition. Then reboot the phone.

Newer Samsungs require plugging in a type-c cable to enter recovery for some reason. Although that is region dependent.

Entering recovery mode without a cable works fine on my Galaxy S24. Are you referring to the Galaxy S25? Z Fold 7?

It depends on the SoC. I also heard European market ones you need to have a usb type c cable plugged in.

Edit: exynos vs snapdragon
