2025 AMG E53 check engine light
Hi guys,
I had check engine light while driving today. The car runs on EV mode but engine would not turn on even in S+. Any thoughts?
Im taking it to dealership tomorrow. I had no prior warning or symptoms. Just came out suddenly.

This went away on its own while driving. I called service and they said cancel the appointment. No need to come. Reading here in the forum it seems that the W214 has a known issue of CEL that comes on and off.

I wouldn't say it's a known issue in terms it's common. It's happened to a few owners on this forum, including me. It's hard to say how wide spread that may be, but it doesn't seem very common based on the number reported verses those that have not. My specific issue was due to a stuck exhaust flap and it wasn't always stuck making the light go out at times. Temporary or not, any CEL indicator should be checked out to see what codes were thrown. Just my opinion at least.
