Good Mortning, I have recently sold my 2019 E450 wagon (67K miles) and purchased a 2024 E450 All Terrain (15K miles). The 2019 was Glacier White and the 2024 is Graphite Grey Metallic. Both cars are loaded and running perfectly. Getting rid of great cars is a bad habit of mine. That is a story for you and my therapist to discuss.
I like the ride of the 2024 and most of the features. The one question I have for this esteemed audience is in regard to the “plastic trim”. I will use wax on the 2024 for the near future and decide if I want to ceramic coat in the spring/summer.
Is there a product that you utilize for treating the trim? I don’t want it to be glossy but, matte as it is now and protected from UV. The car is kept in a garage and will drive approximately 1K per month. Thank you
Use Meguiar's Matte & Vinyl Wrap Protection spray or Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer.
I prefer the Black Plastic Restorer because it leaves a slight soft shine like the new finish.
IMO the matte finish product leaves a too flat finish.
I've been using the turtle wax ceramic products on the paint and plastic on my all-terrain. On a previous car I had gotten wax on the plastic and that had added a white haze that was a hassle to get off. So, was resolved to not use wax this time around and, so far, no issues with the turtle wax products.
