Hello
I have a W214 E200 with the passenger screen. i have some media files (.mp4 videos) on USB and i am able to play them on the passenger screen. however, as soon as the car moves the sound plays but the video turns black with a message "content unavaialble at current speed"
according to what i know, the car tracks the drivers eye and switches the video off/blacks it out if the driver looks at the screen, but this is not whats happening here, the video automatically stops when the car moves. is this normal? is there any way to change that because right now basically the third screen is useless?
appreciate the input, thanks all

This kind of stuff is coded based on local regulations in your country, so the question cannot be answered generally. It may not be legal in Egypt for the passenger to watch a movie while the car is moving. You'll have to check your local regulations. From what I've found, theoretically a passenger can watch a movie while the car is moving, as long as the driver isn't looking at the screen, but I'm also wondering if the passenger must have their own Bluetooth headset connected, so that the audio isn't playing over the car's speaker enticing the driver to look at the screen. If the passenger is in their own bubble watching the movie with headset on, then it might work. But again, ultimately this stuff is regulated differently in each country.
There must be a passenger in the seat for it to continue playing while in motion. It will block the drivers view if you look at it but the passenger will still be able to see it although it will darken slightly due to the tech to block the drivers view. This is how it works in the US, but regardless of country there is never a good reason for the driver to be watching a video on any screen while driving.
Thanks for your replies @L1Wolf and @superswiss
I did try today with my daughter in the passenger seat and with her headphones on via blue-tooth on the passenger screen. the video (via USB stick) works when vehicle is stationary and as soon as i move the video stops and the audio keeps going.
The video stops with the message "Content Unavailable at current speed"
I know this is somewhat of a gimmick but without this the third screen is almost useless so i'm trying to make it work, especially that i know that it should be working

I think it works different depending on country and the regulations there. It's based on the geo location of the car and what that location has as far as restrictions. I recall you said you were in Egypt so maybe it's a requirement there to not allow video in motion even for the passenger 🤷Originally Posted by Ibrahim Alloub

do the silly games work on the third screen at speed? I never had a passenger try a movie in my E350, but they did try the games and those worked at speed in the US. if the games don't work either, i'd say it's definitely a country regulation.Originally Posted by Ibrahim Alloub
