I recently picked up my 2026 E450 (US) and I noticed my headlights do not have the LED at the bottom of the headlight. Most pictures on the web show the version with top and bottom LEDs. I then found a website depicting my headlight (top picture) vs. what is commonly seen on the web (bottom picture). I'm assuming the bottom picture headlight is an upgrade or different trim? I have not really found much on the web about the differences. Can anyone inform me?
I finally found the answer by "building" my car on the MBUSA website and see there is an "active" LED headlamp upgrade, which mine does not have, to get that bottom LED. Question solved.
You have the standard LED headlights. The upgraded package is called Digital Light LED Headlights. This is what MB says on the options page for the E450.
Pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, active LED headlamps can generate light that's perceived much like natural daylight. DIGITAL LIGHT advances this technology with even higher resolution and a greater scope of adaptive functions. In addition to Ultra Wide Highbeams and Adaptive Highbeam Assist, the headlamps can also adapt more precisely for curving roadways and certain weather conditions. When the low-beam headlamps are on, integrated cornering lamps can help brighten turning maneuvers based on driving speed, turn-signal application and steering angle.
