Software upgrade debacle
The factory installed head unit wouldn't take the software download so Germany said replace the head unit.
The head unit was replaced. The software download was delayed due to a final module not loading properly. That eventually worked.
In the course of finalizing everything the technician entered the wrong odometer reading. Odometer inputs are locked down and not permitted to be corrected by the technician and must be referred to Germany.
Germany is unable or refuses to fix the odometer reading and suggests a new head unit be ordered. Presumably they don't want to be on the hook for any odometer rollback issues.
Once the new head unit is installed the process will repeat. I haven't heard back on how long it'll take to get a new head unit in.

How did they mess up the odometer, imagine them doing a bank transfer and entering an additional digit, don't they verify before pressing ok?
