AMG E53 - Charging Programs on Phone App

"Standard" program.
How do I get the car to recognize when I'm at home charging to use the "Home" program? It seems I have to move it manually via the app every time.
Same issue on my wife's 2026 GLC 350e.
Am I missing a step somewhere?
Best you can get is a center screen pop-up notification to select 'home' charging program when you are approaching home.
No different with IOS.

The charging pause option is buggy as well as lacking in functionality.
Does Mercedes have a website where owners can request enhancements to MBUX or the Mercedes app? If Mercedes creates a user suggestion website, the charging portion of MBUX and the app, which seems like it was dropped mid-development, would rise to the top of suggestions that owners want and are easy to implement.

Auto manufactures want the benefits of selling software, namely scalable development costs, minimal distribution costs and recurring revenue. BMW selling seat heater subscriptions isn't the way. Mercedes sent out a survey after I purchased the car. One of the questions on the survey was "When would it be acceptable for Mercedes to have a subscription service?" If the manufacturer's response to improvement suggestions is "Everything is working as it should" then there is no reason to pay for a subscription.
The traditional auto manufacturing process of designing a car for 5 years and making minimal changes after those five years is very different from software sales, where updates are sent to the public every two weeks, and sometimes quicker for bug fixes. Consumers are getting used to frequent updates to applications on their smart phones, tablets and computers. When very simple software requests are ignored by the auto manufacturers it just shows how they aren't meeting customers' expected pace of software improvement. As we are in the third year of the W214/S214, we shouldn't be seeing the charging program application half-completed. If Mercedes released the charging program software as it is now in 2023 and then completed the basic functionality in 2024, I would find that reasonable.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plays a crucial role in evaluating vehicle software updates, particularly those that address safety-related defects and automated safety technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Evaluation: NHTSA assesses whether software updates effectively mitigate unreasonable risks associated with vehicle safety.
- Compliance with Standards: The agency ensures that updates comply with federal safety standards, which are essential for maintaining vehicle safety and performance.

It is basically a 30% tax credit on ALL of your costs, but the program ends for good on 06/30/26. I also think you must live in specific census areas which is explained on the website. Just thought I would help out those on the fence regarding upgrading to a level 2 system that at least you might get some of your costs back. But if you wait for July, you will not be eligible.
Another side note, check with your local electric company for rebates. I live in an area supplied by Duke Energy, and they have a rebate on just the wiring / outlet portion of the upgrade (as long as you meet their requirements on the install). Duke doesn't give any rebate on your charger purchase.
