What have i goten myself into
HELLO BOARD! NICE TO MEET U!
I purchased a 1987 300SD 2.5 years ago. I converted it to WVO and meticulously replaced every piece of broken plastic on the entire thing. The car is a dog, but she NEVER stops running, I LOVE IT!
Down to business: I am a computer technician and recently accepted (in lieu of not being paid..alot) some exhaust parts I need to offload. I have 2ea almost new chrome Lorinser Exhaust Tips w/matching mufflers (not attached) that have 7000miles on them. They are from a 2007 S550. The tips are discernibly hand made (this means they're original??), not machine made replacements. They are certainly not knock-offs. I was told the tips cost $400ea for replacements, and the mufflers cost $1200ea. Did I get ripped off? Was I lied to? Is there even a market for this stuff? and if so, what is a fair price to ask?
I am unfamiliar with the site policies, so I am not trying to sell them here necessarily (but if it is permitted i'm open to the idea, but not on this board i'm sure). Ideally I would much rather these end up in the community rather than with some punk on ebay or craigslist.

You received not a good deal but a huge liability. Hope the car was in fact payment for a very small charge for your services. Any more than a couple of hundred bucks and you were hosed.

If i understand u correctly, you are saying the best I could hope to get for the mufflers and tips is a couple hundred?
