Eisenmann Exhaust W211 E55

I've been doing some research online and I'm really impressed with the Eisenmann mufflers for E55. I've looked everywhere and I can only find new ones for $2K+. Why? It seems crazy that Magnaflow or other American substitute mufflers are under $500 and as soon as you step across the Atlantic the prices for the exhaust systems are in the thousands. WTF? Does anyone know a less expensive substitute to the Eisenmann mufflers that will give the W211 55 a similar sound. I like the Eisenmann because it sounds clean, aggressive and sporty with out the cheap sounding "gargle" that for example a Flowmaster does. Any thoughts?

Thanks efive, I just realized that there is a separate AMG forum. Wow the amount of info there!
