That muffler fits 210 chassis, but won't fit any 124 chassis without custom exhaust work (at a minimum). Bummer! It would have been nice on my 500E. Someone with a 210 should snap this up...

IT WILL FIT A 500E ALL THAT IS NEEDED IS A Y PIPE. I HAD IT UP ON MY 500E. IT WORKED FINE. Y PIPE IS A INEXPENSIVE PIECE TO MAKE THIS WORK. I AM NOT A FAN OF THE SLANTED TIPS!

Excuse the ignorance...but are you suggesting that a muffler for a W210 is designed similarly to one for a W124 given that they are the same displacement engine? (ie backpressure, resonance, etc)

From an exhaust gas flow perspective, I bet they're very similar, if not identical. However the connecting pipes are totally different. A muffler shop would need to fabricate pipes to connect the 210 box to the 124 exhaust system (or, vice-versa). When you use the proper unit, it's a bolt-on, no cutting/welding/fabrication.
