Back ordered parts not available, Mercedes offered a Repurchase.
I bought an EQB 350 sometime during September 2022. Two months later in November 2022, I ran into an accident at not my fault. The very same day I took my damaged EQB to Park Place BodyWerks my car is sitting with them for the last five months with no ETA on parts. I have made four payments on this car until March 2023. Because I did not bring this car in for a manufacture defect, and it was not with the servicing department I did not get a loaner car. I have been renting a car for the last five months. I can’t put in words how much I’m frustrated and exhausted with this process. I tried contacting Mercedes CAC and yesterday they told me, Mercedes has agreed for a Re-purchase. I’m new to this situation so I’m unable to understand what they actually mean by Re-purchase. I googled, all I find is about Lemon law. But the executive from Mercedes who spoke with me on call did not utter a word that did sound anywhere near Lemons. I’m confused and curious as to what I can expect next. They asked me to anticipate a call in next 5-7 Business days. This car is currently being financed through a Credit Union. Any advice towards alleviating my stress and tips to deal with this situation is greatly appreciated. Thank you all.!
Either way, they are going to make you an offer to buy the car back from you but you will not know the specifics until they do. Essentially they are offering your money back, which can be used to pay off the loan from your credit union. You will have to consider the offer carefully, and if it's not acceptable to you, you may wish to consult an attorney to explore your options, if any.
You really won't be able to make any decisions until you receive their offer. If you accept the offer, you will then need to buy a replacement vehicle.
