More On Sensors Plus The Dreaded Turtle
After two attempts to repair the sensors-disabled erros my '23 EQB300 is throwing, problem occurred again last night. But in addition I got the performance reduced and dreaded turtle icon. Car would barely move but I managed to get to my destination. Turned off, locked car, went to my event and returning 40 minutes or so later the car returned to normal. I have heard of glitches that cause the reduced performance errors that seemed to resolve themselves with effectively a cold reboot. But the sensors are another issue. Note that two of the three times the error occurred was in the rain. But not in every rainstorm I've driven through. So something is definitely amiss with this vehicle. Intent now is to take it to dealer and very likely to attempt to lemon it. NJ Lemon Law seems a little more consumer-friendly than other states. I could initiate buyback now after two unsuccessful repairs, but I'm going to give the dealer one more chance. I am a good repeat customer and I really don't want to have to lemon it if at all possible. Wife is already totally fed up and says no more Mercedes.

Car has been in the shop for 5 days with no solution in sight other than "we are working with MB engineers." So very reluctantly and sadly, I retained lemon law attorney and am pursuing a buy back.

Latest update-- after 9 days out of service, dealer is ordering a "rear drive unit." Service advisor has not yet answered my question about the part comes from US or Germany. Or what is the relationship of a rear drive unit to both the sensor disabled (3 times) and turtle mode (1 time) issues. Submitted all paperwork to Lemon Law attorney and hope for quick settlement. I want to put lemon decals on the car whenever it returns from the shop prior to, hopefully, buy back but wife won't let me.

Well, after 18 days in shop, car is back. They replaced the rear motor and a control component. I am still not confident that at least the sensor problem will not recur and feel insecure in the vehicle. I am now in fact suspect of all Mercedes EV's. So things are now left with the lawyers and hopefully the team can succeed with the buy back.
