EQB factory brake upgrade. AMG ftw
Electric vehicles like the Mercedes-EQ series and BMW i-series are known for their immediate, powerful acceleration. The basic 1-pot braking systems, however, doesn't do it justice. While this may be sufficient for wide, open roads, for crowded, narrow urban environments where unexpected emergency braking happens more often, an upgrade may be suitable.
The solution comes in the form of a more performance-oriented, factory-approved braking system. At our iCARMIX workshop, for the EQB X243 shown here, we've installed the original AMG 4-piston front brake setup. The brakes feature an opposed-piston caliper design paired with larger 350mm perforated discs, providing significantly improved braking power and shorter stopping distances. The fact that it looks cool as hell, with the red color, which is already a trademark, it's surely an added bonus.
If it's necessary for everyone or not, jury's still out on that one, it's always gonna be an individual motivation. While you may not always need the full braking capability, having that extra performance available could never hurt. And since this is a genuine, factory-approved upgrade, it meets all local vehicle inspection standards, giving you peace of mind in addition to the enhanced safety.
If you've already upgraded your brakes, use them to stop by my iCARMIX shop, even just for some window-shopping:
