Back In The Shop Again

After 3 repairs for sensor malfunctions, coolant system replacement, sensor control unit and replacement of rear motor. The car actually worked well for 3 months. Then the radiator flap motor burned out leaving the flaps stuck open and a grinding noise whenever car was opened our locked. After a couple of weeks of this temperature warning came on. The first time, did the old trick of loosening the red coolant cap to equalize the reservoirs. Each subsequent time (3 I believe before taking it for service) the levels were fine. Currently in shop where dealer replaced the flap motor and then found numerous stored high voltage battery errors. Opened case with Mercedes Germany who gave the usual answer each time the car was in the shop-- it needs a software update. Currently getting software update and I can get it some time next week. Not optimistic about repairs. Mercedes turned down first lemon law claim but will try again. Very bad luck with this vehicle. This time, dealer gave me an EQE loaner and this feels much more like a Mercedes. The EQB feels like Chevy Bolt level of luxury compared with the EQE. Will report again when I get the car back.

Got the car back this AM, one week after dropping off. Dealer replaced the radiator flaps, motor and wiring harness. Flushed coolant and replaced with new fluid. There were 6 battery faults and dealer asked MB to replace battery. But they reloaded software, they say, and the faults did not recur. So Mercedes declared it fixed. In this case, I trust the dealer but not MB. Sadly had to turn in the EQE loaner. I have little confidence the car is actually repaired but at least have had good experiences with both my selling dealer's service dept as well as the dealer who serviced the radiator flaps. At least documented for the next time I try to invoke the lemon law.

Hmmm, what don't you like about the EQB, in terms of NVH?

I find the EQB to have a stiffer ride than the EQE loaner. The seats were far more comfortable, and contoured. The extendable thigh support in the EQB has a manual release (unlike even my 2019 GLC which was power). In both driver and passenger seats it does not stay locked and extends while driving. The steering wheel is slicker than EQE and the EQE gives more of a feeling of control. AC vents are not well placed. I do not like the sloping lines of the EQE and do not find visibility as good as the EQB, and that is the main thing that speaks for the EQB. But mostly my vehicle is not dependable and I do not feel safe in it.

I see, thanks for your reply. I got curious because someone that had an EQS actually commented on how they had an EQB and like it very much. Obviously the problems you are facing is unacceptable though but I mean if the vehicle was working properly, it competes well with higher tier EQ vehicles like EQE and EQS.
