Yes, they do. You need to push the button at the base and then push the headrest down. Try this if nothing else works:

EQB Rear Headrest Down
My doesn’t go all the way down. I’m pressing the button at the base while hitting on the headrest and it still doesn’t go all the way down. The head rest move freely up and down but not flush with the seat. Not just one side but both side. The middle one is fine. I don’t know what going on.

Just picked up my EQB from Mercedes of Ontario for Battery Malfunction and “towing not permitted” message. While they got my car I asked them to check the headrest. SA told me that how it was designed. It doesn’t go al the way down. What a crappy design I told the SA.

FYI guys, the rear outer headrest does not go all the way down.

Yes it actually does go down.

Hi. After trying this myself before and didn’t succeed, I actually got them down yesterday. The Trick might be to take the seat from its arrested state and lean it forward. Then pressing the side piece to release the stop and give it a decent hit on the top and it goes down.
Hope to help with this.

thank you! I did what you did and it work finally. No thanks to the idiots at Mercedes Benz of Ontario! They told me only the model sold outside the USA are able to retract which I told them that is really stupid.
