Newbie - Charging EQB 350
I have a new-to-me EQB 350 and feel underprepared when it comes to charging. How can I charge the car and keep climate control on without causing an issue? I have an upcoming road trip and I’d like to just sit in the car while charging instead of roaming around a random store while the the car charges.

Use the Right A/C button.
While the car is off you just hit the right button on your A/C controls. It will light up blue if cooling or red when it is heating. It will run for 30 Minutes. You can use this also when you turn your car off and lock it to go to the store. It will keep your car cool or warm for 30 minutes.
But you can also leave the car on while charging and have the A/C running. It doesn’t affect the charging time too much having the A/C running while Charging. The A/C by itself will use about 1KW/h by itself.
1000W/hr. 30 minutes charge time = 500W(0.5KW) A/C consumption during Charging. At 60 KW/h it is 1KW a minute. So the A/C delayed your charging by about 30 Seconds 😱😆

You can keep the EQB’s climate control on while charging, but it’s best to plug in and let the car do its preconditioning or cabin heating/cooling. For most Level 2 chargers, the car will allow AC/heat while charging without issues. Just make sure you’re at a safe, stationary location with ventilation, and the car won’t drain the battery beyond the charging limits. Preconditioning via the app before driving is a good way to stay comfortable without using too much charge.
