Recall: MBUSA ’22-’23 EQB High Voltage Battery Replacement

FYI, there is now a second major battery recall involving 2022-2023 EQBs and this one requires a complete high voltage battery replacement.

Bought it used at 33k something. Drove for a year and carvana would take it at 25k. Assuming that's because of ev credit that's going away.

I'm tempted to just bite the loss because the L3 is now much slower to charge. I hit 10% and it was barely over 90kw when I used to get 100kwh.

Or maybe I stick around and see if the recall can be used as a lemon or maybe the recall improves the charging. Kinda frustrating but hey it is what it is, still a great car. Was tempted to trade it in for a eqs.

Are AMG Versions of EQB Different?

Hi, I just Checked on the MBUSA Website for the Recall with my Vin. It didn’t show any Recall for me. Could it be that my AMG Version 2023 EQB 350 4matic is different in Build? I doubt it. I have to wait until 09.23.2025 if a Letter from MB shows up.
Thanks for the Heads up though!
HF.

You are probably fine if it’s not listed. Not all 2023s are affected, so I’m gonna suspect there was a problem that started in 2022 and continued to some point in 2023 model year production and your car was built after that.

FWIW, our 2023 EQB 350 (built August 2022) shows up in both the mbusa and NHTSA recall websites so the databases are populated.

And to answer your question, on the EQB the “AMG" package is strictly cosmetic as the battery and motors are identical.
