Stunning! The paint has a bit of blue in it which looks simply amazing. Gorgeous shot, and while it may be a little jelly-beany, I think it looks fantastic!

Seeing how they're nickel-and-dime-ing us for subscription services getting Emerald Green Metallic (#989) for free seems like a steal. They could easily charge an extra $2000 for it. But I don't want to give Mercedes any ideas so shhhh, don't tell them!

I took this one after a free wash at Mercedes dealer who fixed rattle in passenger headrest. Not a fan of the stock runflats, would rather have had a spare and softer sidewalls, but I do like the 21" AMG rims so guess I'm going to stick with the setup I got for now. The extra 15 miles of range I might get switching to 20s (depending on rims, and the aeros are ugly) isn't worth the effort IMHO.

Car seems to be getting better the harder I drive it -- brakes were a little scary at first but bite nicely now that they're broken in. Laundry room with 30 amp dryer outlet is adjacent to garage so charging with my 24 amp Splitvolt charger is working well for me also. And no sensor glitches lately! Woohoo! So except for a minor rattle or two in the back somewhere car is working out quite well for me. It's a keeper.
Finally got around to getting the SUV paint prepped. We'd had it since December, but with the warmer (and sunnier!) weather, it was time to take care of the paint. Strip wash, clay bar, DA polish (polish pad and compound only, I skipped medium compound as the paint is surprisingly resistant, and the superficial marks were easily removed by the polishing compound), IPA prep spray, and ceramic coat. I used Avalon King Armor Shield Max, as it has a much shorter cure time and we use the car constantly. Took 4 hours and 15 minutes start to finish. I'd say it came out okay!

Thanks! After using ceramic coating on my sedan, I'm a believer. It really makes a difference, and the paint still looks like it came from the factory a year later. And the benefits of putting it on the windshield are great for hydrophobicity in the rain. We're hoping to keep the cars for a good while, so it seemed to be a reasonable time investment. And that blue color is really pretty when properly cared for, I guess kinda like @Crito 's green paint.
Next project - get the W124 polished and coated, that one's going to need a fair bit more love to get the diesel soot stains off, lol!

Alpine Grey. Great color which hides everyday dust and grime. Profile looks so much better with the body colored wheel openings. 3500+ miles since Dec, 2023.
