2024 Orders?
Hi folks. I'm wanting to order a 2024 EQE SUV, but my local dealer is still telling me that it's not yet possible. Does anyone have any info on when the order book will open? Thanks!

I have a 23 on order that is scheduled for November 21st. My dealer said the same thing as yours about MY24 orders. He suspects they won’t start until January.

It would be just my luck that the '24s would start a few days after mine is built. For the most part I don't mind, but I would like the improved battery pack with more range. The rumor is that the new batteries will be included in builds before the end of '23, so the rumor you heard about December may be correct.

Mercedes has been starting model year production later for some models recently, at first it was parts shortages, now I suspect it has more to do with clearing inventory and not wanting cars already on the lot to seem outdated, on top of being unsold.

Any chance you can link to that rumor or provide a bit more background? EQE Sedan for MY24 will have same pack, it'd be unusual for SUV to feature a different pack - though currently some models have a slightly smaller one. Would be interested to see more information there.

In one sense, I'm sure people will appreciate the extra capacity - but I think they've missed the mark here. They need to make the car more competitive with an E-class or GLE to get more people interested in it. In that sense, they've missed the mark. I get that the cars are expensive to make, but they need to take some risk here. The current design profile is also aging since EQS was launched in 2021, despite in my opinion still looking new and sleek. It's grown on me. But the field is rapidly changing. The cars are fantastic. But perceptions are hard to move.

Even LCI/Facelift in the next few years may not be able to fully address that. You probably have to wait for the next gen new model to see major changes.

Yes, certainly. I know the MB MOPF cycle well. And I do think the EQ look is still relatively fresh. I'm just worried it'll age faster than say, the iconic W124 - not that I'm putting them on the same design level. I just think that MB will face a lot of pressure on the price point sooner. Wonder how they'll react.
