Locked Out
The Aux port on the passenger side is only powered when the car is on, so turned the car on with two presses of the on button. Plugged in the air compressor to inflate the right front tire, closed the passenger door and moved the compressor to the left front. All this went well and decided to do the rears as well even though there was no low pressure warning for them. Slight fill for the left rear, then put the compressor back in the car on the passenger seat.
Things now got confusing. Closed the left front door (maybe inadvertently locked it) and went to the right side only to find the door locked. Same thing on the right. The car was still on but I was locked out.
The smart key was in my pocket and would not open the doors and the Mercedes me app would not unlock the car. Called Mercedes Road Side Assistance. They could not remotely unlock but scheduled a mobile vehicle that they said would be able to unlock. When the guy arrived, about 30 minutes later, the parking lights were still on. I did not find our how he would have unlocked the car as he pressed the handle and was able to open the door.
It seems that the car turned itself off after lack of activity within that 30 minute time window, allowing the smart key to be used.
This is not an experience I plan to repeat but good to know as it could save a trip by Road Side Assistance.

It is MUCH more convenient than using the cig light power, no need to power on the car, and you set the pressure, it automatically pump to the preset level.
I have an old cordless drill and a hand vac with unique batteries. Have not had good experiences with extended use of cordless devices, so corded for me.
