Childseat problem
Hi,
Been a while since i've posted anything. I rejoined the AMG family a week ago and bought an EQE 43 SUV. To the issue, i have a 5 yo daughter, and she needs her child seat. Previously i have had no issues, but on the EQE, i get a seatbelt alarm even though she's not in the car. Anyone else have the same "feature"? The seat is connected via isofix.

Welcome back, and congrats on the EQE! We have 3 car seats in my car. There is an icon in the instrument cluster that shows up as a seatbelt reminder for rear seats. It will always show up. Only difference is that if the seatbelt is fastened, it will show as such. Or, if a passenger is in the back with seatbelt fastened and they unbuckle, the warning tone will sound. However, regardless of whether one, all, or none of the seats are installed, the seatbelt reminder icon will always show when you first start driving. I don't think it can be disabled. However, it should not be making any noise when it does so. Is that what you're noticing?

Understood. Does it sound the alarm if the child seat is there but the seatbelt is not fastened? I think I read somewhere that the cars have an upgraded rear seat monitoring system. On my '23 EQE sedan, it lets you know the state of the buckle, and always displays it, but won't sound an alarm unless someone unfastens a seatbelt. Perhaps even if ISOFIX is connected, it'd be good to just buckle the seatbelt.

Exactly, if the seat is empty and i fasten the seat belt, no issues. I've had the car for little over a week after my E class where this was not an issue, so i tend to forget to fasten it after i pick my daughter out of the car. The isofix is apparently just two pieces of metal with no sensors attached to them, no help there.
Looks like there's no fix. I just have to get used to fastening it.
