What's the Difference between indicated range and maximum range?

There are two different numbers indicated by the SOC amount on the driver's panel. One states mileage range and the other indicates maximum range. What's the practical difference?

On EQE sedan, max the leftmost value factors in your driving style and high speed driving percentage. On SUV it's the same for the left number, while Max is more sensitive and factors all power consumers as well as driving mode selected.

So, my 80% number is currently 242, the max number is 266.

That's a fairly typical difference between the two numbers on an SUV platform. Our sedan has both numbers identical, and it's been that way for a long time. The SUV has never had the two numbers converge, so the software's thinking is somehow different there. I tend to drive both cars about the same in terms of efficiency, so something is definitely different about the reporting from the system.
