Had a MB over the air software update last night. Screen said takes 15 min and look doors after saying go. This AM, all works but some preferences were lost but easy to reset. The traffic light view now works 100 pct, compared to hit or miss before. Tunein radio screen is different but ok. Still looking at whatever changed.

No Traffic Light View in the states that I know of. Audi e-trons have an interactive traffic light function showing time to red or green that works in some cities. It worked about half the time for me but was nice to know how long the red light was going take.

 

Not sure if your traffic light view is the same as mine, as mine is just a front camera view - and I see absolutely no point of that function. It doesn't tell you what light it is or when it changes.
No different from me looking out of my front windshield.

 

Though I do have the augmented reality camera, I didn't see that option come up in our cars. The one time I did think that the traffic light view was handy is if the traffic light is located too close to the intersection where you stopped. That can make it difficult to see in select circumstances. The camera gets a less obstructed view, which is handy.

 

Nice OP, can you share an image of the updated TuneIn app? Are you able to follow/favorite podcast shows?

 

I also received an update on my AMG EQEX4. Software version: RL_NTG7_E330.602_23063AC3. My radio favorite settings were wiped out, the Equalization menu is now a step-by-step tailoring, the display panels now have a setting for each for daylight brightness, a bunch of other items got modified (easy access, etc). Took a while to get things back to my preferences. The media favorites tab is now back to what it was 7 months ago (this is good) and the setup of the favorites is much more streamlined. I'll have to play with the interface some more when I have more time.

 

@HBerman Strange. Was that update at the dealer or OTA? About a year ago the dealer installed E330.703, and I have seen reports of E504.304 being the latest (with some minor feature updates).

 

OTA I believe.

 

Clarification: The software feature update was installed OTA (no indication of that happening however), but I'm still at level E330.603. I called Mercedes Me and they confirmed that my vehicle was correctly registered and that only the service shop could force the download. Seemed a bit different than what I would expect, but I placed a call to my Service Manager for guidance.

 

Do you have SoundDrive? Or the ability to favorite a podcast? These are one of main pointers of latest version release

I just got an e-mail from Mercedes asking me to link my streaming and podcast accts, which I now have done. The version number on my software is unchanged, but I have this new feature. Where do I find Sound Drive setting?

 

This is the first time I’m hearing of this feature, can you share a screenshot?

 

I have it enabled under Digital Extras on my ME acct.

 

From what I can tell, the EQ series has dozens if not hundreds of software modules a few of which can be updated over the air, but most require a visit to the dealership and are only updated if there is a specific problem. Basically, every subsystem in the car has software and potentially a corresponding coding (a set of bits that activate/deactivate certain operations). By subsystem I mean things like the lights (each headlight is an independent subsystem with its own software and coding to control if it is conforming to US or European specifications, for example). I suspect that the OTA software is limited to noncritical functions a like the infotainment system.

I have never seen an OTA software package for my 24 EQE sedan.

 

Hey guys, My EQE SUV 500 is still on RL_NTG7_E329.501_22411AC3. I believe this version is very old (probably 2023). I have asked the dealer/service centre, they say that they cant install any updates, if there is any update it will be visible in the car in MBUX under software updates. But MBUX says no updates available.

Can anyone guide on how do i proceed further?

 

I believe E330 was the introduction of MBUX 2.4.

It's more likely your dealer won't install any updates unless they can charge MBUSA for warranty work for this.
If you have experienced any sporadic odd behavior of your MBUX system or screen, then you should mention these items to the dealer, as it may be enough for your dealer to claim the upgrade would be warranty work. This is what happened in my case, which got me from E330 to E504 under warranty.

 

With the announcement of Tesla superchargers supporting Mercedes vehicles came the additional information that some (?) cars will need software updates to be able to use the network. That may be your route to an update; but it is not clear if this would be a billed service for vehicles out of basic warranty.

 

Mercedes Dealer behavior and MbUSA policies are really odd.

their vehicle is incapable of handling system software updates OTA, they can do small changes like redirect a web app or update driver for non-critical subsystem

their refusal to do software updates is appalling penny pinching behavior.

what’s worse is upcoming CLA EV isn’t that much better is more of the same.
