Recuperation System

Hi- I just had a question regarding "Normal recuperation"
This is our second EQE SUV. Our first EQE would slow down relative to a normal ICE car when lifting off the pedal
.
Our new EQE cuts off power more aggressively, more similar to the "Strong Recouperation" setting.
The new car spec wise has 21" wheels (20" previous) and the rear active steering.
So wondering if those options would make for a more aggressive recuperation in the normal setting.

Thoughts?

What year is the car? The specs won't change it much, but the braking system was revised for 2024. Also remember that the EQEs are lighter and tuned differently.

The new one is a 2024. So the revised braking system makes a lot of sense now! Were there any specifics released as to what revised on the brakes?

Pedal feel is substantially different. When I felt it, it seemed like the first but of travel had little resistance, much like a vacuum brake assisted system. Also, when regenerating, the pedal doesn't move at all in any setting, unlike 2023 EQE and EQS.

This is exactly what I feel. Like the car is aggressively cutting power. The charge % bar shoots significantly. So the car is clearly braking to regenerate the power. I don’t get that in the intelligence mode.. must be some level of software / hardware braking system.

Intelligent recuperation monitors traffic and road ahead of you. If it's free and clear, and no sharp curves or intersections exist, it'll just let you coast. If you're coming up to traffic, whether moving or stopped, or coming up to an intersection where you've indicated a turn, it'll bring you to a stop or to the appropriate speed. Like Distronic a little bit, except without the car controlling the accelerator and steering. Normal is about 25% or so regen, maximum bumps it up to max regen within a certain limit - if you're near peak charge level on the battery, it'll add in more disc brakes so that the experience is the same regardless of charge level. "No recuperation" coasts freely, and actually has the most recuperation when using the pedal alone, until you get to about 60-75% pedal travel.

Intelligent recuperation and creep mode In EQE SUV

I've been testing the four recuperation modes in various driving conditions, such as city streets, roads, and highways. I've observed that strong recuperation enables one-pedal driving only when creep mode is off, as the car comes to a complete stop without needing to apply the brakes.

Additionally, I've noticed that the "auto-braking" in the Intelligent Recuperation mode can sometimes feel a bit abrupt toward the end of braking, with noticeable noise. However, when I turn off creep mode, the braking feels much smoother and quieter. Has anybody had this experience?

Your experience checks out on the modes. I switch around often depending on what I'm trying to accomplish at the time. Noise toward end of braking will persist for about 10k miles or so as your pads and discs finally start wearing in. Our SUV did this for a while and finally quieted down a few months later.
