DC Charging Error?

DC Charging Error?
Hi folks. I plugged in my wallbox to charge my EQE SUV this morning and I got an error on the dashboard that said "DC charging inoperative - service required". After about 10 minutes, the error cleared and the car began to charge from my wallbox at 9.6kW (the normal rate). Has anyone else had this happen and can anyone explain what this is? Thanks for any help you can all provide.

That's interesting. The same pins that are used by AC charging stations to signal to the car the maximum charge current are used by DCFC stations as a digital signal. AC charging stations put a voltage on the pin that indicates charging current available to the onboard charger. The DCFC stations use a digital communications protocol over the same pin(s). It's possible that the car was confused during the connection process and thought it was getting a connection handshake or some sort of preamble and decided it was faulty, thus temporarily disabling DCFC. That'd be my first thought.

Thank you again Bytemaster. Later in the day I again charged my EV and this time everything was fine. I also called my MB service department and got basically a shrug of the shoulders, which I guess is understandable but a little disconcerting.

Glad it worked fine. It may just be a weirdness or even power glitch while plugging in to your home charger. Are you using the MB-provided EVBox charger, or something else?

I have a ChargePoint box, which I installed before I learned that MB would give you one for free/cheap with an EV purchase. I am really loving this car.
