Unfortunately, the front grill camera glass has cracked. Local MB dealership wants $600 for the camera. Online MB shops go as low as around $400.
So trying to install myself but I want to open the front hood. I found this is not supported/advised by MB. Regardless, I would like to at least take a look under the hood.
I have found Youtube videos showing how to access the hood release but my question is, is there any special procedure/method need to close the hood?

You'll need a flathead screwdriver pair, or a body clip removal tool. There are two clips that hold a small door in place. Once you have the two clips removed and open the access door, you can pull the latch. You'll need something to prop the hood open. Good luck!

Goodness, just re-read your question - it was about closing the hood! No special procedure needed. Just slam it shut as usual.

thanks.. that is what I have determined, indirectly. Same issue with the EQS, which people have opened and no one has posted any issue with closing
