Is the EQE basically an E-class ?

- convenience of at home or work charging (cannot emphasize this enough if it fits your driving requirements)
- lower cost for electricity per mile than gas/diesel
- lower annual maintenance cost (none for 1st 2 years)
There is the range consideration if you do regular long distance driving that may alter your normal routes or stops for public charging.
Unfortunately the price difference between electricity and diesel does not justify the lease difference of 200 euros
and maintenance is included in the lease.
i get a budget of 1100 euros per month to lease (which already huge) regardless of any other factors...

Mercedes has significantly lowered their lease prices on their electric vehicles, meaning i can actually get an EQE which fits my budget
(Their electric cars are not selling very well at all)
- Basis an EQUE 300 Executive line 81.300 euros:
4 years
115.00kms
insurance included
maintenance included
1200 euros per month
But at the same time Mercedes asked their dealers in France if they wanted to buy a certain number of EQE SUV's at a reduced price.
So my dealer bought 7 and due the reduced price i can actually lease it it a the same price as the sedan:
EQE 350+ SUV AMG line - 79.000 euros after reduction (98.500 euros original):
2 years
55.000 kms
insurance + maintenance
1200 eur per month
Of course it's a model "off the lot", which is normal in the US, but not usual in Europe..
But it has all the options i want, except the colour (it's grey, i prefer black) and doesn't have a trailer hitch.
So i've decided to go for that one.
I'm not particularly an SUV fan, but like to give it a try
And it's only for 2 years, so i'm hoping by then there will be some changes on prices & models

I know I’m going to miss it, but I doubt I’ll ever go back.
The taxes in France on company-leased petrol cars keep increasing, so the E-Class is no longer within my budget.
At the moment, electric cars are exempt from that tax—but I suspect it’s only a matter of time.
My current hybrid was tax-free when I got it, but that changed this year too...
So, let’s see where things stand in two years when the SUV lease ends.
Maybe the next car will be a C-Class (electric or petrol) or who knows, maybe I’ll become a true SUV fan ?!
In the end, it’ll all depend on what models are available, the prices… and, most importantly, what the French government decides by then. ;-)
