Update on Tesla access

I just got off the phone with my local dealer and the national customer support so have an update on the situation with the Tesla access:

1. The adaptors are available now as special order parts from the parts department of dealerships.
2. The service advisors in the dealerships have limited information about the rollout, and referred me to the Sales department as the Sales staff have more and more current information about the rollout.
3. The rollout of support is ongoing and they hope to be done by the end of February. (They accidentally transferred me to the national customer support instead of sales, which was able to fill in some additional details.)
4. When they are ready for your vehicle, an email will be sent and a notification posted in the vehicle head unit. That notification should indicate what steps need to be take to gain access to the Tesla network for that vehicle.

Hope this helps.

I received an update to the Mercedes Me App, in which I confirmed that I now had the Mercedes Adapter. The Navigation now shows the Tesla Superchargers on the routing. However, the rest of the update, which was to start the charging session from the MBUX screen, was never promoted to my knowledge. I questioned my SA this afternoon and she did not have any updated information. Did I miss a communication from MB? Thanks

I bought the adapter from my dealer and just use the Tesla app to charge. Never have had a problem and so much more dependable that EA. My free EA charging expires in a couple of weeks and definitely good riddance. If I have to charge other than home charger, would only use Tesla and would only use the Tesla app.

I still use the Tesla app to initiate charging with the Tesla membership some rates are as low as $.28 in Socal which is half that of EA in Socal

In what region do you live? I've gotta say, EA has dramatically stepped up its game. It has been literally months, maybe longer, since I've seen a damaged or not-working EA charger, and I've been roadtripping thousands of miles across the Eastern US lately. Their 4th-gen units are very robust, it seems. Not that I dramatically prefer them over any other networks, I do really like the MB HPC network, and I use Tesla when needed or opportune, but EAs have been fantastic lately.

Nothing has changed in Socal almost every location has at least one broken charger and still not enough of them.

Ah, yeah, I've heard it's pretty bad there. Hopefully it improves soon and notably so.

Tesla charge with tesla app or use mbux screen

curious why you only use the Tesla app to start charge. I have been using the mbux screen in the car and have had no issues plus the charge is recorded under mbux/mm app transactions.

I believe it, do you have any particular source you can share? It doesn't honestly bug me much, but would be good to know what the thinking/planning is. The few times per year I use a Tesla it hasn't really been a problem to select the charger stall.

Back when Supercharger access was first made available in February, there were a few messages saying dealers were being told Plug & Charge would take a year. Only reference I could find was in this thread:

https://mbworld.org/forums/eqe-v295-...ml#post9112681

Recently when I picked up my 2nd EQE in April, the dealer told me the same thing but he added he thought the year was a just a placeholder they made up and there's no actual set date. So the "indefinitely" part is speculation but the year delay has been communicated to dealers and I've seen it mentioned from multiple sources now.

Either way, as you said, it's pretty much a non-issue. I've activated charging from the MBUX screen and it works perfectly fine.
