·20. May 2025·1 minute reading timeMercedes has to recall several series again due to an incorrectly reworked locking box. Due to contact interruptions or incorrect backup values, it can not only lead to backup failures, but in the worst case also come to the fire. Several series from the production window 31.01.2023 to 17.10.2023 are affected.
As part of the current recall, 4,652 vehicles are affected worldwide, 927 of which are in Germany – spread over various series. Affected models of the C, E and S-Class as well as the AMG GT, the GLC and CLE models, as well as the all-electric EQE and EQS series.
The cause of the recall is an incorrectly post-processed preservation box. This can lead to contact interruptions or unreliable backup values, which in turn can result in the failure of multiple fuses. In the worst case, a fire cannot be ruled out. For the affected vehicles, the pre-fuse can is checked and replaced if required.
There are no exact information available for the duration of the workshop stay. However, it is expected to take a time of about 60 to 90 minutes. The affected holders will be notified in writing.
