10° Rear Axle Steering
Does anyone have experience with the 10° rear axle steering option on the EQE?
I'm considering ordering it on a '26 EQE 320 4Matic ('27 E Class EQ) replacement due in late 2026.
Does it work well or is it just a gadget?
Are there any known maintenance issues?
I'm building a bullet list of questions to ask both the SA and the shop foreman.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Works fine, I've had it on a 23 and now a 24 EQE. I don't even notice it unless I get in another car immediately after. For example, I was visiting my parents who have a GLC with a much shorter wheelbase and the EQE has a noticeably smaller turning radius making it easier to maneuver or make tighter u-turns. Some U-turns I couldn't do in a Tesla Model 3, I can do just fine in the EQE.
I've not heard of any maintenance issues but I think they've only really widely deployed it in the current generation of cars.
Also note, the available 21" wheels will reduce the max angle to 4.5 degrees.

For buyers in Europe and cities/town with narrow roads and sharp slow-speed bends it should be invaluable.
For buyers in North America who typically drive on wide roads and do not have to deal with tight parking sports it is just a nice to have.
To see the difference ask a test drives on one car with it and another identical car without it. Then make your decision.
But if you are not concerned about the additional cost and you are not giving up some other option then go for it.

I have the same experience, no issues so far with 19" rwd, tyre wear is even front vs rear @ 10k ish miles on summers, mostly highway strong regen driving, i think good combination with 360 cam, just warn vallet/detailer etc. if you give keys to someone new, also sometimes people on traffic honks pointing tyres

These are long wheelbase cars, it makes a big difference in my opinion. Garages, parking spaces, narrow maneuvers of any kind. I'm so glad I got it, personally. It's definitely noticeable if you drive a loaner that doesn't have it, as an example. For the sedan in particular, I think it's almost a requirement. That said, you can definitely enjoy the car without it, but it certainly enhances the experience. Highly recommend.

We have an EQS SUV with rear axle steering and we love it so much I will have a hard time buying a car without it. The EQS SUV is pretty long but it gets in and out of spaces like a small car because the car turns fronts and rears opposite one another changing the axis of rotation - it is a game changer at low speeds requiring maneuverability. At high speeds the fronts and rears turn the same direction lengthening the effective wheelbase increasing stability. We are thinking of getting an EQE and if we do we will be sure to get rear axle steering!
