Owner Reviews and Photos
We are the proud owners of a 2023 EQS 580 SUV. My wife and I picked it up this afternoon. I’ll post some impressions tomorrow after more time behind the wheel but initial impressions are very good.

Interior impressions:
No car is perfect but the MB engineers have produce an excellent EV for their first SUV and I see many more great products coming from MB.
The weather in PA is rainy so I'll post more pics in few days.
- Really comfortable entry and exit height (at lease for old people with bad knees).
- Plush interior with excellent build quality (no surprise from MB).
- The dash is a bit high but after adjusting the seats we could see the hood.
- The seats are very comfortable front and back. I haven't yet even tried the 3rd row as the car we ordered didn't have it but I'll send some smaller people back there to try it out one day.
- The center console is solid and roomier than I was expecting. The wood and stars option looks beautiful in-person.
- The Hyperscreen is a little intimidating at first but after the concierge walks you through installing the Mercedes me connect app and syncing your profile with the car, it's straight forward and the rest of the setup is handled through the displayed via prompts. You can access your profile using 3 different methods: 1) Face recognition 2) Finger print ID 3) Voice recognition
- I think the programmers could improve the interface by simplifying a few steps but overall MBUX is quite impressive.
- Wireless CarPlay works well and will run in the background while using the Zero Layer Home screen. So for example, if you are on the Home Screen and a phone call comes in, CarPlay will pop to the top to take the call. After you end the call, it reverts to the background again. Perfect.
- Ambient lighting at night is a blast and the Hyperscreen looks great as well.
- Plugging it into my Level 2 ChargePoint at home for the first time was easy and I tested if I could start the car and put it in gear while plugged in, but it of course does NOT allow you to move the car until it is unplug and the flap is closed. I set ours to stop charging at 80% which it recommends for good battery health.
- This is where things get really good. The driving dynamics are wonderful. Acceleration response is smooth as silk.
- Regenerative braking is available in 3 flavors but I found Intelligent Recuperation to work best. It allows the car to glide/coast when appropriate and applies regen braking when a car slows in front of you similar to laser-cruise control.
- The brake pedal feel is odd as many reviewers mentioned but I think it will just take a little time to adjust to the feel of the pedal moving.
- The Comfort setting is pure enjoyment for my wife and I. Silky smooth ride.
- Out on the highway it is a true Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicle. Wonderful to drive, so easy to control. Cruise control and lane-keep assist are better than any vehicle I've driven to date.
- Acceleration is awesome when you floor it, hang on!
- The rear-steering is a delight and something I always wondered about. It truly can turn on a dime. My wife is so impressed with this option (me too).

10 days in and I’m averaging 3.185 mpkWh
Or 318.5 miles of range at 100% charge
We will see after more driving and a lengthy trip.

We've owned our EQS 580 SUV a little more than a month and I really enjoy MBUX. A nice feature is when approach our home the system activates the cameras to help you see around the car while pulling into the garage. The engineers also added a feature to the sound system, when you put the car into reverse or stop at signal or stop sign the volume is lowered a bit to help you focus. As soon you start moving the music returns to the preset volume. The various ambient lighting settings are fun to play with but they all include red lighting on the side doors if you cross the lines of the roadway or another vehicle is beside you or coming along side of you. This is easily the best, most advanced car we've owned to date and we love it.

Bumping an old thread... I was going to create one for the SUV owners to post pics of their rides but found this one which fits the bill... Here are pics of ours Come on guys lets see those rides. Only thing we done is tint the front windows, add a tint strip to the top of the front windshield, that sucker is big and the sun just shines right on in. I also removed the EQS from the little corner window trim cover, I found it tacky and out of place, I like it better with out it.

We've had ours for about 4 months and love it. Thomas from OnlyElectric goes on and on about his dislike of the capacitive buttons but I find then easy to use. I do however think the location of the volume and hazard buttons on the center console could be better placed. I have activated the hazard lights several times be accident and caused a change in volume by accident. The ride comfort is top-notch and I love the Hyperscreen. Anyone that says you don't need the Hyperscreen likely bought an EQS SUV without it because it is a delight to use and looks great at night. No one needs this car or the Hyperscreen but it is a great EV. I did see a noticeable drop in range as colder weather arrived here in the NorthEast so it would benefit from a heat pump as the EQE SUV will include. I'll bet a heat pump is coming to the EQS SUV very soon. I do wish MB has offered the cool 22" wheels shown with all the press release cars but I read they are working on bringing them to the US market. What were they thinking not offering them in at launch?
