I also changed my mind on the EQS 580 SUV. The one that came in for me was loaded at $142,020 and had everything I wanted except for a hitch. The car while obviously not a performance vehicle does not handle twisty roads as I would have preferred. The Tesla Model X does a better job. Also the one pedal driving is really easy with the Tesla and a hassle with the EQS. Great luxury, too soft a ride, no hitch if you have the third row. I am hoping that Mercedes will fix the obvious things for the following year. That is a bummer given you will lose the sales tax? and take a loss from MSRP.
I bought a EQS 580 just for the reasons some do not like. I want the softest quietest ride on the road backed up by a reputable company. For twisty, winding roads I have my Sl550.

Ok several things. Is that a Model T in the background!? And also are those Home Depot shelves in your garage?! Or perhaps you live inside a Home Depot…. Either way, very cool car collection!
Ok, I love your hobby! Those cars are way cool! Where is the 190sl or the pagoda 280sl? Those are on my bucket list to rebuild one day even though both are moving out of the realm of affordability for a rebuild....
My 2014 gl450 and my 2015 slk250 we're both rebuilds. Bought them with very low miles and less than a year and totalled on copart. Rebuilt them and ran the gl450 for 83k miles before I totalled it again. The slk is running great.
I’m close to finished with what I have desired to rebuild and certainly don’t move as quickly as I used to so dropping engines and transmissions out of old rusty iron in a afternoon is problematic. I started working on my first car, a VW Beetle, at age 16 and I am 69 now. I have a total of 12 rebuilds now and just keeping up with batteries, tires and maintenance takes a lot of time. Happy with what I have now! 😊
Decided I'm not in love with this vehicle and looking to exit back to the Model X. I have put 1,000 miles on it which includes the delivery trip from philly back to chicago. I have purchased the All-Weather Mats, ceramic tint on the front windows to match the back and did a full detail and 5 years ceramic coating on the car to protect the paint. The MSRP was $140,860. I'm willing to sell for $130k or a reasonable offer. I'm located in Chicago if you'd like to test drive or view it. I've sold many vehicles using transporters for pick up and willing to make this an easy transaction for anyone interested. The transaction will need to include a payoff to MBFS for the title.
Nice spec and good looking vehicle. What were the missing factors, or what allowed you to make the decision to move on from the EQS SUV?
GLWS!
just prefer the sportiness/style of the X and one pedal driving I’ve become used to.
I have an R1S on order. Might just wait for that delivery in 2023. I found a Model Y I could get into for a short period waiting on that delivery should I find a good buyer for the EQS
