Did anyone's EQS SUV come with a portable charging cable?
We already have a ChargePoint at home so this is not an imminent issue. I was gonna get a J+ Boost 2 (Mercedes seems to sell a branded version of this through parts but it's out of stock and way more expensive) to keep in the trunk for trips but the manual mentions in multiple places about a charging cable that's supposed to come with the car. I looked everywhere but couldn't find it. Did anyone receive it? Is it something that's backordered and will be delivered later? Is it L1 or L2? How's the build quality?

My September 2022 build 580 SUV came with a level 1 cord which I find useless. I bought and carry a Ford Level 2 cord made for the F150 and also a 80 amp Tesla tap adapter for the Tesla destination set up just in case. I charge here at home and our weekend house with Level 2 set ups so may never use the spare cords I carry with me.

I tried the L1 cord the first day I drove the 580 home and it charged at 2 miles per hour of charge.
PS- The Ford set up comes with a level 1 and level 2 set up.

You’re right! I went back to the ordering guide and there’s indeed a $250 option of “110V Household Charging Cable”. So my build sheet not having it means it’s expected that it’s just not included. Thanks folks. I guess I’ll go ahead and get that j+ one.

I did not get any charging cables with my 450+. That's fine with me because I would never use an L1 plug at 2 miles per hour of charge. I did buy a 50 amp MUSTART L2 cable from Amazon that I keep in my EQS for emergencies. These are useful if you have access to a 50 amp plug which you can often find at campgrounds. Or in my case we installed a 50 amp plug at our cabin so we can do L2 charging there as well.

I purchased a Tesla UMC for $200 (Price since raised to $230) and changed the connector to a J1772 plug as described in this video.
There are eight different NEMA plugs available for this charger making it the most universal charger available . I keep the 5-15, 6-50, and 14-50 versions in the car. Since driving EVs over the last four years I have twice relied upon L1 level charging at remote destinations in Vermont. An L1 only (like MBs charger) or an L2 only charger is not nearly as useful as this Tesla UMC unit.
If adapting the Tesla EVSE to use a J1772 plug is not something you want to tackle, a Lectron adapter can convert the Tesla charger to work with the MB EQ vehicles.

If you don't want to hack a Tesla UMC, Lectron sells a similar L1/L2 charger with a 5-15 and 14-50 plug cords and a J1772 connector. I keep a 50amp 6-50 to 14-50 plug converter with it. Currently $299 with the $50 on page coupon.

Ours came with the charging cable (someone else ordered it and then passed on the car). I agree with you, pretty much useless unless you plan to stay at that location a few days after you plug it in. If you're ordering your EQS SUV, pass on it.

At that time I found the best price from a Ford dealership selling on eBay. This particular Ford set up is Level 1 and Level 2. Check around as there may be a lower price somewhere else.

Sorry I did not see your question until today. With the 120v power cord it charges around 1.7kW or about 4 mph. With the 240v power cord it charges at about 7.4kW which translates to 15 to 18 mph.

I use a 220v charger from a 2014 Porsche Panamera SE-Hybrid I had . Two settings, one puts out about 7.5 and the lower around 3.5kw. Easily charges the EQS at night prior to the next day. I use the 35 kw on occasion because for unknown reasons I think slow charging is better for the batt. On occasion you'll see one of those Porsche chargers on E-Bay, but newer 'stuff' is probably better.
Oh, no 120 cord came with the car. Next time I go to CarMax to try to sell it, I'll make plain to them the charging cord was 'optional'. They like to pretend it's missing and cut the price/value of the car imho. Same with key fobs and most trades if you only have one key fob.

My EQS SUV came with the useless level one cord and I immediately bought the Ford Level 2 to carry on trips just for insurance when they were cheaper and available.

My 450+ came with a level 1/2 charger. You can change the cable that plugs into the wall from 110v to 220v as needed. Came in a bag with a zipper and is labeled as portable. It stays with the car for emergency purposes since I'm getting something else for the house. Wife's EQE also has the charger. Both were purchased at the same dealership in California.
