I am trying to understand the requirements for using the staggered wheels. According to the EQS SUV order guide...

1) Non-staggered wheel options 29R, 07R, 19R, 86R, 87R, RWO, and RWX specify "Not with Third Row Seat"

2) Staggered wheel option R21 specifies "Only with Third Row Seat"

3) Staggered wheel option RW1 specifies "Requires AMG Line Exterior"

I recall forum members with RW1 wheels have posted photos of their SUVs with third row seats.

Questions:

a) Are RW1 wheels okay to use on SUVs without the third row seats?

b) Do EQS SUVs with staggered wheels have the 10 degree rear steering, or is it limited to 4.5 degrees?

c) Can non-Staggered wheels be used on EQS SUVs with third row seats?

EQS SUV staggered versus non-staggered wheels

I managed to fat finger the first post in this thread and inadvertently deleted the title. Maybe one of the moderators can fix it. Should have read, "EQS SUV staggered versus non-staggered wheels"

I liked the "A", very mysterious.

The R21 and RWI (i, not 1) wheels are only available from the factory with the third row while none of the other wheels are available from the factory with the third row. The dofference is that the rear tires are 10 mm wider then the 19R and RWX wheels which are otherwise identicle. So I don't think there's any technical restriction to adding the RWI wheels aftermarket, but theres no reason to because the RWX wheels are exactly the same aside from a square tire setup.

The reason I raised the questions about staggered versus non-staggered wheels on the EQS SUV is that there are several sets of staggered wheels for sale on eBay at a reasonable price. I am not expecting to get very good tire life on the EQS SUV. 20K to 24K seems to be about the max one can expect. I would really like to change the wheels to 20" since the tires in the 265/50 R 20 size are almost half as expensive as the 21" tires. But buying low mileage take off wheels at a reasonable price and selling the wheels after the tires are worn is another possibility.
