Apple CarPlay Won’t Start

2023 EQS SUV, 2019 BMW I8, 2015 ML350, 1971 BMW 2800cs

Apple CarPlay Won’t Start

Sometimes I get into the car and CarPlay won’t start. I get this message:

At other times it works fine. Does anyone else have this issue? Or a recommended fix?

I get that every once in a while. When it happens, I reboot the system by holding down the Power button until the system restarts.

Do you mean the power button which starts the car/engine?

No, the MBUX on/off button.

2023 AMG EQS

I just go in to Audio setting and connect Carplay manually whenever it happens.
Hit the home button, hit "Smart Phone," then hit the carplay button. If the phone connected via bluetooth then it works every time for me no need for a restart.

Its my understanding CarPlay only connects wirelessly in the EQS. Plugging in your iPhone would only charge it but the connection is wireless only.
