The dashcam needs to be turned on for each profile, typically in loop recording mode. It can be turned off.
The specs for that drive no not specify operating temperature or anything about continuous performance. For any long trips the dashcam will be continuously writing images. Many device cannot handle this and will fail prematurely.

I see... thank you very much! And it has to be connected specifically in the center armrest USB-C?

Any USB-C should work. It is out of the way in the centre armrest.

I just used a 256GB flash drive.
It's good for about 30 hours of driving before it overwrites old recording.
I think that's plenty good enough for me.

I use a 512gb USB-C memory stick that shares dash cam video with 216gb of music. It works fine, the video just re-writes over as needed.

I just ordered the Dashcam from MB. I happenned to have an SD HD 1GB using USB-C. What format should I format it to ex-FAT?

I hope that was a typo. 1GB is not going to cut it for 1080p dashcam recording.

opps... I meant 1Tb SSD hard drive with exFAT format. Thanks for catching that typos. I am waiting for MB to activate my dashcam.
