S-class EV conversion Potential (MB wake up)
I have figured a cost effective way for MB to make billions and change their status in the EV industry.
If Im Mercedes or Brabus I would make a Sclass EV conversion KIT for all W222-223 Mercedes S class. The cost will be a flat rate and it will only be one option two options max. The price would be 50k-60k. The reason why it should apply to the Sclass and maybe the eclass is frame stiffness and conversion applicability. Mercedes should charge 50k no more than 60k. I thought of this as I don't like the EQS but that is where technology is heading. If Im mercedes and I want to catch Tesla Launch the EQS EQE and EQC and a S-class EQ conversion pack. It should get around 350 to 400 miles.
You will have a 5 year waiting list of people waiting for conversion and it will increase the value of used 222-223 s classes if you make a S class ev conversion kit. It wont get the same mileage as a EQ series cars but very close to it. This way it does not hurt EQ sales. Charge 50k-60k a piece finance it through MB banks and you have doubled your revenue source with a low overhead as you already made money with the original car purchase.
This will also allow Mercedes to keep ICE engineers employed.MB wake up this is how you make money in the new age, Reinvent yourself do something that the entire industry have not tried. If you like this idea please respond with the negatives and positives as I would like to hear the forums opinion. If Mercedes likes this idea its mine and I would love to discuss it with them. I know Im wishful thinking but this is a money maker period.
The 50k price comes with an EV warranty of 3 years 36000 miles. The 60k price comes with a 4 year 50k miles and certifies the w222-223 as a new certified pre owned EV conversion car with bumper to bumper warranty.
BTW BMW's EV strategy is along the lines of what you really want. While Mercedes is having separate ICE and EV vehicles with purposeful design for both, BMW is going for an integrated design that supports both ICE and Electric powertrains. SO you will get that ICE look on their future EVs. The downside is I suspect their EVs won't be competitive with Mercedes or any of the other companies with purpose built EV platforms.

Since I love both my W222 AND my EQS, I have no interest in your thinking.
