It looks like an S500 in UAE sells for AED700k which is about $190k. That includes the 5% VAT which the configurator you showed does not. So if we deduct the 5% we get $180,000.

So based on the configurator you posted, it appears the EQS is priced slightly below the S-Class which is consistent with what my dealer has been saying to me.

 

Agreed, US pricing will definitely be less than some of the configurators posted for other countries. It always is.

 

I was under the impression MB was hoping to have EQS competitive with Tesla get back some market-share they lost to the model S over the years. The EQS is around $35-40K higher!

 

EQE would be the equivalent model to the Tesla Model S. The Tesla Model S has always been a mid-size luxury car, comparable to the E-Class, 5 series and A6 in size. In fact the E-Class has better rear passenger room than the Model S.

The EQS is a segment above - a segment in which Tesla has no offer.
