Hello. I still have time to change my configuration. And after seeing Cardinal Reds on Redline and Motoman's AMG Review (youtube) I started thinking more about it.
Currently my config is Diamond White with Beige leather with natural brown walnut (no hyperscreen as I prefer the more wood), standard 20 wheel 5 spoke and non AMG.
Will a Cardinal Red go well with my current config?

Yes it will go if you like the color. Red with beige interior is a classic Mercedes combination. Will work with brown wood and 5 spokes too.
Personally it's not my favorite color on this car because it hides the light bar at the back. But if that doesn't bother you then go for it.

Cardinal Red over the Beige/Brown interior should contrast quite nicely. I haven't seen any Cardinal Red 450/580's, but it looks nice on the 53's and should pair well with the chrome exterior trim. I'd highly recommend spec'ing it with the AMG-Line exterior though, as that significantly improves the exterior looks and appeal.
Don't understand why they don't offer Cardinal Red on the EQE SUV. MB has recently added more color options to the EQE SUV here (Sweden), but the palette continues to be mostly dark/drab colors.
I have always been partial to Cardinal Red, have owned three SL 550’s as such,
and have no idea why MB does not produce more. Their attitude is you will love black, white, grey and nothing else! 😊

Red is among the most costly pigments for paint. People keep buying non-color colors across the grayscale so there is little reason for them to change. If folks substituted BMWs, etc. and reported paint color as reason for MB rejection, MB would likely change.
Yet one sees red paint on cars costing 35k-40k all the time…
True. Mass market/commodity cars need to cater to a wider diversity of buyer preferences. They are not prioritized for “engineering” as are more premium brands and need to use more tools to pull prospects in. MB’s unique selling proposition won’t likely suffer in the absence of non-bland paints so they don’t need to include any possibly polarizing colors as do other brands. As Mel Brooks said, “It’s good to be the king!”
I recall when Dodge only advertised red cars to establish a sporty image. Having said that, some of the brands charge extra for some colors and frequently red is among them.
Agreed. And there are so many black, white or gray cars. I have a Twilight 580 and it looks amazing in person. It has an iridescent tone that is unique.
