The issue with these things is the corner cases - rain, snow, fog, sunrise and sunset - the things that cause vision issues. In these scenarios, I would much rather have a full set of sensors. Musk is an idiot if he thinks cameras can replicate the resolution and depth perception of a human eye. And it also misses the point that the whole purpose of ADAS is to provide a level of safety beyond what a human can achieve (e.g. seeing through fog).
